Jackson Recognizes National Minority Health Month

Jackson Health System and community partners, including Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss, the City of Florida City, WeCare of South Dade, the Center for Virtual and Community Advancement, NAACP, Gospel Truth Magazine, and Covenant Missionary Baptist Church

April is National Minority Health Month. Jackson Health System and its community partners take pride in supporting the health of our community.

We are making it easy for Miami-Dade residents to stay on track with their health goals by hosting the Florida City Gateway To Wellness/Health and Resource Fair. Free adult health screenings will be offered, including glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and HIV/AIDS testing.

Activities for the entire family include a ZUMBA class, a kids zone, and music by DJ Hercules from 99JAMZ. Safety prevention resources, nutritionists, health education, chiropractors, voter registration, and healthy refreshments will also be available.

Jackson, along with Florida City Mayor Otis T. Wallace and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss, invite the public to this free event.

When: April 25, 2015, 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
