Residency at Jackson North Medical Center focuses on all sub-specialties of Podiatric Medicine with an emphasis on Foot & Ankle trauma. Residents participate in yearly publishable research projects. Our affiliation with the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and the Brand Center of Research allows our residents to participate in on-going medical research. We are also affiliated with Dr. Robert Snyder's Post-Residency Wound Care/Research Fellowship, of which graduates of JNMC are given preference. Residents have the opportunity to participate in medical mission trips with the Podiatry Overseas Association in Africa, Brazil, and Guyana.

Application Requirements

  • Must have graduated from a CPME accredited Podiatric Medical School
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Two Letters of Recommendation

Board Exam Requirements

  • Must pass Part I and Part II of the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners

Each resident will rotate through the following specialties:

  • Radiology
  • Pathology
  • Behavioral Sciences
  • Infectious Disease
  • Internal Medicine
  • General Surgery
  • Anesthesiology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Surgical subspecialty:
    • Vascular
    • Plastics
    • Orthopedic
  • Medical subspecialties, two of the following:
    • Dermatology
    • Endocrinology
    • Neurology
    • Pain Management
    • Physical Medicine
    • Rheumatology
    • Wound Care

Call
The on-call schedule is divided evenly amongst the first and second year residents.
