Services Provided At These Hospitals & Locations
Holtz Children's Hospital
Our pediatric plastic surgery sub-service provides our young patients with the opportunity to significantly improve their quality of life. Our physicians and specialists are committed to delivering comprehensive care, while also supporting families and loved ones. Treatments range from pioneering surgical procedures to sophisticated therapeutic techniques, all in an effort to secure a long and healthy future for our pediatric patients.
Cleft Lip & Palate
Cleft lips and palates are the second most common congenial defects amongst children. They are characterized as a separation in the upper lip and/or in the roof of the mouth. Reconstructive surgery is normally recommended to correct both conditions.
Vascular anomalies are classified as non-cancerous tumors, malformations, and birthmarks. They steadily grow during the first year of life, becoming more visible between the ages of 4-6 months. Most anomalies are small and don’t require medical intervention. However, if our team notices a large tumor, we will heavily monitor its growth, and act with treatments such as injections created to block further enlargement.
Congenital Melanocytic Nevus
The congenital melanocytic nevus is a type of mole or birthmark found in infants at birth. Our specialists observe these malformations very carefully, and often times suggest surgical management of larger congenital nevus, typically done in stages.
Gynecomastia is characterized by excessive development and growth of the male breasts. Largely due to hormonal imbalances, our surgical teams treat the disorder through corrective surgery, removing fat and/or glandular tissue from the breasts to reduce their size.
