Adult Kidney-Pancreas and Pancreas Transplant

Last Visited »

Overview

As if one transplant wasn’t enough, patients whose pancreas does not make enough insulin often require a combination kidney-pancreas transplant. A pancreas transplant, without a kidney, is also an option for certain rare conditions. While only a small fraction of procedures at the Miami Transplant Institute are pancreas or kidney-pancreas transplants, our program has performed more of these complex surgeries than most centers in the nation. As a testament to our experience, MTI is one of the only kidney-pancreas transplant programs across the country with 10-year survival data.
