Overview
The Miami Transplant Institute, the only center in Florida that performs every type of transplant, makes miracles by drawing on a rich history of transplantation. Since 1970, we have served an international community, growing into one of the largest and most comprehensive transplant centers in the world. We perform more than 450 transplants each year, playing a major role in kidney, liver, intestinal, heart, lung, and pancreas transplantation and operating one of the largest pediatric transplant programs in the United States.
In 2012, MTI earned three silver awards, the most in the nation, for kidney, kidney-pancreas, and liver programs from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Division of Transplantation. We also received a bronze award for our heart program. These awards recognized MTI’s excellent patient outcomes and transplant rates – two big reasons why patients turn to us for miracles.
